Planned to take place at the Jilpanger Reserve today
Forest Fire Management crews will conduct a planned burn today at the Jilpanger Nature Conservation Reserve, weather and fuel condition permitting.
The burn will take place 20 kilometres west of the town of Toolondo near Bow Lake Road.
The objective of the burn is to provide an irregular mosaic of areas of fuel reduction, which aims to reduce the impact of bushfires on habitat and seed crop for Red Tail Black Cockatoo.
The burn is scheduled to be complete sometime between midday and 6pm.
Residents are warned they may see and smell smoke and haze in the area and those who experience any symptoms due to smoke exposure should seek medical advice or assistance immediately.
Some roads and walking tracks near the planned burn area may be closed.
