Grampians National Park

Upgrades to develop more reliable roads within the Grampians National Park have been constructed as part of the 270 million dollar package that aims to reduce the risk and severity of bushfires across Victoria.

Ten new creek crossings have been constructed, to increase road capacity. As well, they have removed fire-killed trees that can fall on firefighters, vehicles or block roads.

Forest Fire Management Victoria’s Wimmera District Manager, Glenn Ruldolph says by creating better road capacity fire management can respond quickly and safely to bushfires in state forests and national parks far more effectively.
